Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in Health and Social Care:
The level 2 qualification is a one-day (6 contact hours) accredited training course designed for individuals who work in the health and social care sector; such as care workers and child minders, to equip them with knowledge of basic health and safety practices, awareness of risks and hazards, hygiene and practical control methods essential in the workplace. Assessment is by a 30 question multiple-choice question paper.
The course is suitable for anyone working health and social care environment, in both public or private sector and provides employees with a good awareness of their responsibility towards their own safety and that of their colleagues, those in their care, members of the public and contractors.
Department of Health guidelines require that anyone involved in the provision of care receives adequate training to deal with the risks of Health Care Acquired Infection (HCAI).

Level 2 Award in Hygiene in Health and Social Care:
This Level 2 half-day (4 contact hours) course is designed to give the learner an introduction to hygiene and infection control.
The course is aimed at giving learners the information on what infection is, the different types of infection and pathogens and how these can spread and grow within a care setting. We also cover hygiene risk assessment so learners can achieve and understanding of how to prevent and manage the risk of infection with the working environment. Assessment is by a 30 question multiple-choice question paper.
The course is ideal for those learners who:
- Work as support staff within the care sector
- Care manager and team leaders
- Cleaning staff and domestic staff
- Anyone who may be caring for vulnerable relatives or friends
- Those staff who work as child care professionals
Safe Moving and Handling of People (Adults):
This Moving and Handling of People (adults) Course ensures your compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 by providing employees with an adequate knowledge of the related risks and an understanding of how to carry out their work safely.
This Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults course is designed to help learners understand more about the safeguarding process, including how to recognise the warning signs of abuse, how to report a concern and how to ensure that vulnerable adults remain safe from harm.
